Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA – A solo driver suffered major injuries last evening in a single-vehicle accident along Highway 4, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials.

Zachary Anglin, 30, of Arnold, was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment following the incident, which occurred shortly before 7 p.m. in Arnold west of Horsehoe Drive.

The CHP San Andreas Unit reports that Anglin had been driving a 2000 Nissan XTerra west on Highway 4 between 35 and 40 miles-per-hour when he somehow turned towards the right, heading off the roadway. The vehicle subsequently continued over the north shoulder and hit two trees, one after the other.

Anglin was later arrested at the hospital for driving while under the influence of a controlled substance; due to the injuries he was released to the hospital for medical care.
