The One Love Gathering is a 2-1/2 day event of music, yoga, workshops and local, organic foods, to co-create an experience of “the awakening heart of humanity.” On Sunday the “One Voice” Worship Celebration is an alliance of churches and organizations in Tuolumne County that include: Chapel in the Pines, Country Cowboy Church, New Life Lighthouse, Rivers of Life Christian Fellowship, Sonora United Methodist Church, South Hills Community Church, Sonora Regional Medical Center, Word of Life Fellowship. The theme for the event is “An Appeal To Heaven.” Rivers of Life Christian Fellowship Pastor Jay Wynn says, “with all that is facing this nation with the elections, economic down turn and trouble, the threat of terror attacks, and the general condition of our nation, we as Pastors deem it time to come together as churches and declare our unity in Christ and call our churches to pray for our nation. As a counter to the death and destruction our nation faces we will be raising funds to help support the new lives coming into this world through the ministry of Foothill Pregnancy Center.” Details about the event speaker are in the event listing here.
The Evan Walker Memorial Poker Run will start at The Red Barn in Sonora on Saturday and the Motherlode Area Derby will present Skeleton Crew vs Team Rex, in a Co-ed Roller Derby at the High Country Sports Arena. Open to the public skating will be from 3:30 to 5:30pm only.
