Update: Calaveras County Fire Exstinguished

Update at 4:50 p.m.: Cal Fire reports that local residents were able to put out a vegetation fire along Pine Ridge Lane off Railroad Flat Road before responders got to the scene. All resources, including Columbia air, have been called off the fire except for one engine that will be checking for hotspots, according to spokesperson Lindy Shoff. The fire was contained at a small spot.

Original post at 4:35 p.m.: Mountain Ranch, CA — Cal Fire and Columbia air resources are responding to a vegetation fire in the Mountain Ranch area of Calaveras County.

Cal Fire reports a call come in regarding smoke in the skies over Pine Ridge Lane and Struckman Road off Railroad Flat Road. There is no word on the fire’s size or the flame’s rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the news center.
