Caltrans Advises 15-minute Hwy 4 Delays Coming Aug. 1

Calaveras County – An eight-mile-long paving project along Highway 4 is destined to create challenges for motorists beginning Monday, east of Cottage Springs.
Officials say the work, which is expected to take through late September, will focus between Meko and Ganns Meadow drives, east of Cottage Springs. The $2.7 million project, which was awarded to Chester Bross Construction Company, is described as a maintenance overlay process, which is expected to extend the surface life of the roadway for three to five years.
Caltrans says travelers should anticipate one-way traffic control and shoulder closures every weekday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.
