Major Injuries In Tuolumne Road Motorcycle Crash

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Two Bay Area residents suffered major injuries in a motorcycle accident in Tuolumne County over the weekend.

The CHP reports 53-year-old William Archbold of Morgan Hill was riding on a 2001 Harley Davidson with a passenger, 37-year-old Holli Kay Oliveira. The two were riding eastbound on Tuolumne Road near Morris Road. Archbold activated his left turn signal and slowed in anticipation of turning. However, the CHP reports that 73-year-old Carmen Bertita Plane of Sonora failed to notice them slowing down, and struck the rear of the motorcycle with her 2008 Mercury Mariner SUV. The two on the motorcycle were ejected and landed on the roadway. Archbold was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto and Oliveira was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Plane was not injured.

The crash occurred Saturday at around noontime.
