Sonora, CA — Beginning Tuesday, fresh off the holiday weekend, Caltrans will spread out a number of work crews across all the major Mother Lode roadways.

Tuesday through Friday, in Tuolumne County expect 20-minute delays on Highway 108 from the Hess Avenue undercrossing, easte of Phoenix Lake to North Sunshine Road as pavement work is underway from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

On Highway 108, expect ten-minute traffic interruptions between Soulsbyville Road and Strawberry East Wednesday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., due to tree crews at work. Tuesday through Thursday, between Helipo Road and Lassen Drive, grinding and paving will set up from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. and may generate slight delays.

On Highway 120, maintenance work under a moving closure is slated Tuesday through Friday from Groveland and Lost Claim Campground, which may also set motorists back a few minutes.

Crews ‘Round-the Clock in Calaveras

In Calaveras County, striping crews will be hitting most of the major highways. During the daytime, anticipate ten-minute delays along Highway 49 under a moving closure Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. between the Tuolumne/Calaveras County line and Frogtown Road as well as from Pool Station Road to the Calaveras/Amador County line. Additionally, Wednesday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. utility potholing is slated during those hours between Angels Road and California Street.

Plenty of overnight striping in Calaveras County is also in the works along Highways 4, 12, 26 and 49 that will bring five to ten-minute travel interruptions. Tuesday through Friday it will be in place from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Highway 4 between Foundry Lane and Anrey Court; Highway 12 from the San Joaquin/Calaveras County line to Highway 49; and along Highway 26 between Shelton Road and Highway 49/Mokelumne Hill.

Motorists along Highway 49 will find three more overnight striping operations underway Tuesday night through Friday morning, causing ten-minute delays. From 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. crews are slated to work between the Tuolumne/Calaveras County line and Frogtown Road (continuing efforts there in the daytime hours). From 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. more will be working between Copello Drive and Angels Road as well as between Pool Station Road and the Calaveras Amador County line (another place where daytime work will be ongoing).
