First Ever Junior Mother Lode Round-Up Queen
On Sunday night April 24th, Shyanne Clopton was crowned the first ever 2016 Junior Mother Lode Round-Up Queen.
Clopton was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
By being named the Jr Queen, Clopton also won a tiara, a buckle, two sashes and a shirt.
Clopton is a Freshman at Sonora High School. Clopton has one horse named ‘Turtle’ and a younger sister.
According to Clopton, the three pieces of advice that she kept in mind during the competition was to, “smile, breathe and have fun”.
“I’m looking forward to this year’s Calcutta, the Parade and the Rodeo. I’ve been waiting a long time for this,” said Clopton.
The next big Roundup event is “Band Review” 6 PM tonight at Summerville High School, followed by the Calcutta tomorrow (Thursday May 5th) at the Sheriff’s Posse Grounds.
