A South Seas Adventure To Help The Humane Society

Sponsored by:

For the Humane Society of Tuolumne County, this Sunday’s champagne brunch is the most important fundraiser of the year.

Jean McClymonds, Executive Director for the Humane Society of Tuolumne County was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

The annual fundraiser always includes a full theme often playing on names that are pet related.

This year’s them is “South Paws-ific, a South Seas Adventure”. According to McClymonds, the public will find themselves in the tropics, so consider bringing your sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat.

Big Joe and Bridgette of KKBN 93.5 FM will emcee the day of activity which includes a live and silent auction, beach lover’s games, and a five-star brunch catered by Dave Ingram of Chef Dave Cooks. This all takes place at the Elks Lodge in Sonora from 11:45 AM until 4 PM.

Tickets are available at the HSOTC shelter in Jamestown and their Purrrfect Bargains Thrift Boutique in East Sonora or at the door on the day of the event. Prices are $30.00 for the general public and $25.00 for HSOTC members.

The ‘South Paws-ific Champagne Brunch’ will include a high scale menu including several breakfast items, mimosa’s and live entertainment.

The Humane Society is funded by private donations and public fundraisers. Part of the money is used to benefit the Spay/Neuter Voucher Program.

McClymonds stresses that the Humane Society of Tuolumne County is not a part of any city, county or state government and money donated to the National Humane Society in Washington D.C., never filters down to this local shelter.

The Newsmaker of the Day can be heard each weekday morning at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 on AM-1450 KVML.
