Update: Fire Destroys Masonic Hall In Calaveras County

Update at 11:40 p.m.:  Cal Fire dispatch reports the fire has been contained with much of the building destroyed. Fire investigators are on scene, but there is no word on what sparked the blaze or whether it is the building ignited over suspicious circumstances. Luckily, there are no injuries to report and the flames did not spread to any nearby buildings or vegetation.

Update at 10:50 p.m.:  Cal Fire dispatch reports the flames have engulfed nearly 3/4 of the Masonic Hall as firefighters continue to battle the blaze.

Update at 9:45 a.m.: Cal Fire reports it is the Masonic Hal located on the 17000 block of Milton Road at the intersection of Flint Street in Milton that is burning. Cal Fire dispatch says  it is a working attic fire of the hall and no one was in the building when the flames broke out.    We will bring you updates as soon as they come into the newsroom.

Original Posting at 9 a.m.: Milton , CA — Firefighters are on the scene of a structure fire in Milton.

Cal Fire reports that when firefighters arrived on the scene smoke was pouring out of a building on the 17000 block of Milton Road at the intersection of Flint Street. However, no further information is being given at this time. Motorists should use caution in the area and slow down.  We will bring you updates as soon as they come into the newsroom.
