Mid-October Events

Many events and fundraisers scheduled this coming weekend are fall themed. Railtown 1897 State Historic Park begins its Harvest Haunt Express Train Rides. Staffed by a “skeleton crew,” all the popular holiday ride details are here.

Friday night join the Women Helping Other Women (WHOW) Ladies Night Out or enjoy opening night of the “The Drowsy Chaperone” at Sierra Repertory Theater (SRT), Details about the play are here.

Saturday morning October 17th is the last Sonora’s Farmers’ Market beginning at 7:30am.

Also on Saturday Catch a Tennis Tournament at Columbia College. The ‘Just Ace It’ Tennis Tournament Series will encourage children of all ages and abilities to play tennis all day.

Saturday, at Utica Park in Angels Camp, enjoy live music and food at the Firefighter Disaster Relief Benefit.

Saturday in Jamestown is Das Barktoberfest 2015 to benefit Humane Society of Tuolumne County.

An Oktoberfest at La Contenta Golf Club in Valley Springs will include dog races, eating contest, beer chugging contest, German cooking demonstration, closest to the pin contest, and music. Proceeds from this event will benefit Valley Springs Elementary School 6th grade camp, and Jenny Lind Elementary School arts and music programs.

On Sunday there is a Bowl-A-Thon to benefit Jamestown Family Resource Center at Black Oak Casino.
