Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Helping evacuees from the Butte Fire, The Resource Connection in San Andreas is collecting food for the Butte Fire evacuees in Calaveras and Amador. They are looking for non-perishable food items and the local Salvation Army helps coordinate and distribute it. The items cannot be in glass jars.

The Resource Connection can be contacted at (209) 754-1257 during business hours Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM. They are located at 206 George Reed Drive in San Andreas. The Resource Connection also has an after hours drop box for items.

Clarke Broadcasting is on air with information and updates on 93.5 KKBN, Star 92.7 and KVML 1450AM. We will be here for our listeners in the weeks and months to come as residents continue to help each other put their lives back together after this wildfire disaster.

Donations of cash and gas cards to The Resource Connection are greatly appreciated and can be sent to PO Box 919 San Andreas, CA 95249. Your donation will be used locally to help those displaced by the Butte Fire Calaveras County families.

To review donation information at any time go here, in the box in the upper right keyword: donate. On mobile click the red ‘Donate to the Butte fire’ button.

The Resource connection began in 1977. County employees from Calaveras and Amador and the Mountain Sisters Collective addressed the counties’ need for child care and victims of domestic violence. In 1980, the Human Resources Council (HRC), opened its doors with a staff of four. In March 2009, HRC changed its name to “The Resource Connection” with 130 employees — offers a crisis center, early childhood program, food bank, resources and referrals and WIC.
