Fire In San Joaquin Impacts Travel

Escalon, CA — The Collier Fire has created traffic backups for commuters heading toward Oakdale and Escalon.

Motorists will see smoke and face delays on many area roads as the 50-acre Collier Fire continues to burn along Jack Tone and Collier roads, in San Joaquin County. Firefighters were able to stop the forward rate of spread around 4 p.m. According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, North McHenry Avenue will be closed well into the evening as fire fighters continue to work the fire. Several homes along it and Hogue Road were evacuated.
