Yarts To Yosemite

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – Forget the car, jump on a bus, it is easier and cheaper, according to Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System or YARTS officials.

The buses have hit the road as the summer season service from Sonora to the park began today and will run through late September.  Riders will get a treat this year. The cost of an adult ticket from Sonora is $25, and includes the park’s recently hiked $30 per vehicle entrance fee — a savings of five bucks. All buses connect to the free Yosemite Shuttle inside the park. Additionally, kids 12 and younger ride free with an adult.

The Sonora buses began in May 2012 and there are three pickups locations, as seen on the map in the upper left hand box. YART buses provide service to gateway communities along Highway 140 and 120 in Mariposa, Merced, Mono, and Tuolumne counties to the park. Click here for times and more information.
