Name Released In Soulsbyville DUI Crash
Soulsbyville, CA — The CHP has released more details on a solo-vehicle wreck on Soulsybville Road.
The accident happened Tuesday at 3:40 p.m. on Soulsbyville Road, blocking the roadway for about an hour. The CHP says 39-year-old Garland Williams, driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, was speeding when he smashed into the Curtis Creek Bridge.
CHP spokesperson Nick Norton says, “Due to his [Williams] high level of intoxication he was unable to negotiate a curve and slid into the west roadway edge of the bridge causing significant damage to the concrete bridge.”
Williams was treated for minor injuries at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail facing DUI charges Tuesday night. It took tow crews more than an hour to clear the wreckage and reopen the roadway.
