Local Disaster Volunteers Needed

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – When disaster strikes having a prepared emergency response team of professionals and volunteers can save lives.

Sonora Regional Medical Center (SRMC) will be putting together a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) of volunteers.  CERT teams are recognized nationwide by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according Medical Center officials, who explain the team provides citizens for local disasters and when requested can assist emergency personnel.  In addition, the public can sign up to assist with American Red Cross emergencies.

There will be two opportunities to find out more about volunteering, Tuesday, January 26 and Thursday, January 29.  The informational sessions will run from 5:30 to 6 p.m. each night in Conference Rooms 1 and 2 at the medical center.  For more details, contact Marc Stevenson at 209-536-3364 for more information.
