Cause Of Death Determined

Tuolumne County, CA — The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office has learned what caused the death of a man that was found dead in Lake Tulloch.

58-year-old William Ray Jaspar who was spotted by a man that was walking over the Tulloch Lake Bridge on Tuesday afternoon. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office officials responded, and pronounced Jaspar dead at the scene.

“A forensic autopsy was done, and Mr. Jaspar’s official cause of death was drowning, with a contributing factor of a massive stroke,” says Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Sgt. Scott Johnson. “Mr. Jaspar had a stroke that caused him to enter the water. Had he not drowned, the pathologist said the stroke would have proved fatal in several minutes.”

There was no foul play discovered, and the investigation is now closed.
