Tuolumne County, CA – Emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life after a La Grange man crashed his car into a tree.
The wreck happened yesterday around 6:50 a.m. on Zarzamora Street north of Alameda Drive. The CHP reports 44-year-old Daniel Carlson was driving a 1992 Honda northbound at about 30 mph. He told officers he had just dropped his son off at school and was heading home when he fell asleep. The car drifted off the roadway and smashed into a tree.
Carlson suffered major injuries including a broken collarbone and complained of pain to his right arm and both legs. He was taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center. The CHP reports drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
