Housing Purchase For Critical Need
Jamestown, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the purchase of a housing unit for those with developmental disabilities.
The county will pay Kings View, Inc. $266,000 for the Cabrini House located at 18370 Railbed Road in Jamestown. The money to purchase the home comes from state funds directed at expanding the Behavioral Health Supportive Housing Program.
The house is a five-bedroom residence on 1.5 acres. County documents state Cabrini House was built in 1980 with construction funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development to provide a safe and affordable living environment for people with developmental disabilities. In addition, the documents report the recommendation to consider the purchase was spurred on by the critical need to maintain a local residence that is designed to provide permanent housing for persons with severe mental illness.
Tuolumne County’s Behavioral Health Department will staff and oversee the house.
