Site Opened Up For Fireworks

Sponsored by:

Angels Camp, CA — Using “safe and sane” fireworks is allowed in the city limits of Angels Camp, and if you going to do so, officials are encouraging the utilization of a central location.

The Bret Harte High School Sports Center parking lot on Murphys Grade Road will be available to the public for fireworks on July 4 from 6-10pm. The vegetation is very dry this summer, and local law enforcement and fire officials will be on hand to keep an eye on things. Fireworks allowed in Angels Camp must have a “safe and sane” label from the California Fire Marshall. Illegal fireworks in California include those that explode, leave the ground, or move uncontrollably, such as sky rockets, bottle rockets and roman candles. Penalties for possessing, transporting, or using illegal fireworks range from a misdemeanor to felony charges.

It is noted that “Safe and Sane” fireworks are banned in several areas of Calaveras County, all of Tuolumne County, and all federal lands and state right-of-ways.
