Sponsored by:

Mariposa, CA — The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has lifted its evacuation order for the Hunters Valley area. Residents have been allowed back into their homes.

Cal Fire reports the Valley Fire is now 65% contained, no structures are threatened and the fire remains at 90 acres.

The flames broke out around 5:30 Friday night in the Hunters Valley Road area near the southeast shore of Lake McClure.  Three structures were destroyed, but there is no word on what type of structures.  At the height of the blaze, 40 structures were in danger.  The areas evacuated were portions of Bear Valley Road and Hunters Valley Road.

There is no estimated time of full containment. The Valley Fire is in the same region where the 677 acre Hunters Fire started on Memorial Day and was contained on June 2.
