More Structures Destroyed In Valley Fire

Sponsored by:

Mariposa, CA — Cal Fire reports the number of structures burned down in the Valley Fire has jumped to three. However, there is no word on what type of structures were destroyed.

Crews continue to battle the blaze in Mariposa County from the ground and air this morning. The fire remains 15% contained at 90 acres.  Evacuation orders are still in place for the Hunters Valley area.

The flames broke out around 5:30 pm in the Hunters Valley Road area near the southeast shore of Lake McClure. The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation order for portions of Bear Valley Road and Hunters Valley Road last night. There is a Red Cross evacuation center at the Catheys Valley Baptist Church. Roads closed in the area include Hunters Valley Road and Hunters Valley Access Road, both at Bear Valley Road.

The fire is in the same region where the 677 acre Hunters Fire started on Memorial Day and was contained on June 2.
