Update: DUI Blamed For Two Car Crash

Jamestown, CA — The CHP reports a Jamestown man has been arrested for DUI while on the scene of a two-vehicle crash near Jamestown. The wreck happened just before 2 pm on Rawhide Road near Peppermint Creek Road in Jamestown.

The CHP reports 82-year-old Jesse James of Jamestown was driving a Pontiac GT and turning left into a driveway on the 18800 block of Rawhide Road when an oncoming Ford Focus hit him. The Focus was being driven by 29-year-old David Mayes. The CHP reports Mayes was going about 60 mph in a 40 mph zone when he t-boned James.

Mayes was arrested for DUI.  James suffered minor injuries and complained of body pain.

Rawhide Road was blocked for about 20 minutes as tow crews removed debris from the roadway.
