Can You Dig It?

Sponsored by:

Volleyball, theater, fishing, egg hunt, wine tasting, or hop on a hog, all things you can do this weekend.

Tonight, the Sonora varsity girl’s volleyball team wants to know if you can dig it. The team and other students are taking on the faculty for raise money to purchase new practice nets. The fun is served tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Sonora High gym.

Also, the Yosemite Theater kicks off its season tonight with Return to Balance, a breathtaking film about rock climbing in Yosemite and presentation by famed climber Ron Kauk.  The curtain goes up at 7 p.m. at the Yosemite Theater behind the Valley Visitors Center.

On Saturday, you can hop on a hog for a good cause. The 6th Annual Sgt. Bobby Rapp Memorial Scholarship Ride runs from 8 to 11 a.m. The main event, the Poker Run, begins at the Jamestown Harley Davidson store and ends at Tuolumne Memorial Hall.  The fun runs from 8 to 11 a.m.

Learn to tie, cast, clean and cook at the Moccasin Creek Hatchery Trout Fest. Cast your line from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Moccasin Creek Hatchery 15300 Hwy 49 Moccasin.

You can end your Saturday with the sound of music.  The “Music to Their Ears” concert will showcase local musicians. All proceeds and additional donations will go to the African Children’s Choir.  It runs from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Sonora High School.

On Sunday, the kids can hunt for eggs while the adults find their favorite wine.

Kids can hop on down the bunny trail to the 17th Annual Free Easter Egg Hunt presented by the Wallace/Burson Association & Tri Lakes Baptist Church.  Kids can get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. The hunt runs from 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm at Tri Lakes Baptist Church in Wallace.

Adults can hunt for a great tasting wine instead of eggs at the 38th Annual Columbia Wine Tasting. Sip on wine all afternoon on Sunday, April 13 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Columbia.  More than 60 wineries will be represented.
