Weekend Events Highlight Health

Several events this weekend in the Mother Lode focus on your health, Music and Gems.

You can get some key health screenings at Mark Twain Medical Center 5th Annual Spring Health Fair & Lupus Awareness Fun/Run Walk. Over forty-community health, related service groups will participate in this community-wide event.  The event runs from 8 am until noon at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys this Saturday. (Lupus Fun/Run Walk starts at 8:30 am)

Child safety is targeted at a car seat inspection for kids.  The California Highway Patrol along with Sonora Regional Medical Center would like to make sure that children are safely secured in their vehicles. This is an opportunity for parents to see how to correctly install their child’s seat for FREE. The event runs from 10 am-2 pm this Saturday at Sonora Regional Medical Center.

Get a taste for this summer’s programs Saturday at the Musical Theatre Workshop. It runs from 9:30 am-3:00 pm at the Webster Theatre at 14372 Cuesta Ct in Sonora.  The event includes games and activities similar to the summer program, as well as auditioning tips and run-throughs of roles.

Test your poker and riding skills at the TOP HAND Poker Ride this Saturday. The event starts at 8 am at the end of Peoria Flat Rd, off O’Byrnes Ferry Road in Jamestown.

Learn how to pan for gold at the Gem & Jewelry Show & Sale on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm at the Calaveras County Fair Grounds in Angels Camp.

You can relax and enjoy the soothing sounds of flute at the Red Church in Sonora.  St. James Concerts – The Femme Flutale Trio starts at 3 pm.
Sandra Betti, flute, June Diggle, flute, and Andrea Marks, piano together will perform a variety of works.
