“Suspicious Death” Investigation

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department is investigating the death of a business owner on Mono Way.

Police Chief Mark Stinson says the PD received a report of a “man down” at around 11 o’clock this morning at the auto shop located at 280 Mono Way. The Police Department, and paramedics, responded to the scene. “It was confirmed that he was deceased,” says Chief Stinson. “At this time we have a suspicious death, and we’re conducting an investigation.”

The Police Department has not released the name or age of the man, but Stinson confirms that he is the owner of the body shop. When asked, Chief Stinson said the department is not calling it a homicide investigation, just a “suspicious death.” Limited information is available at this time, but Chief Stinson says the Police Department plans to release more details tomorrow morning. A law enforcement team out of Sacramento has been called in to assist with the investigation.

The PD has been directing traffic on Mono Way in front of the business.
