Several events are planned for this second weekend in February.

Tuolumne County UCCE Master Gardeners are collaborating with Waste Management and Tuolumne County to re-purpose #6 Styrofoam. They will be accepting clean, dry #6 styrofoam and colored #6 food containers as long as they are clean with no food residue. A manufacturing company in Lodi will turn the foam into new food containers. UCCE Master Gardeners will be on hand to unload your car both Saturday and Sunday. The Sonora Lions Club Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser is Saturday morning. All proceeds benefit the A-TCAA Food Bank. Details are here.

A Senior Prom for Seniors at the Senior Center Ballroom off of Greenley Road begins at 4pm on Saturday. The Valentine’s Senior Prom is for Seniors 60 and older. The event is a fundraiser to benefit for Senior Center. View the Senior Prom listing for ticket information here.

The 4H Livestock Field Day will be held at the Motherlode Fair Grounds Saturday at 9am. The public may view rabbits, chickens, goats, horses, learn about the animals, and how to care for them. Details are here.

Murphys is hosting the 3rd annual Heavenly Chocolate Festival from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the 1st Congregational Church of Murphys. There will be unlimited tastings of homemade chocolate treats, a chocolate fountain, and homemade Valentine gifts. Details are in the Festival event listing here.

At the Memorial Hall in Tuolumne the Fest D’Ville begins Saturday at 7:00pm. Several bands will be performing to support Summerville High School and Connections music programs. The event features Columbia Kicks Big Band and performances by the Zero Hibernation Jazz Band, Constellations Show Choir and Jazz @ 8. “An Evening in the Tropics” auction and dinner will be held at the Mother Lode Adventist Junior Academy. The parent organization has a fun filled evening planned for the community that includes a vegetarian dinner, silent auction, and live entertainment provided by ‘Tinder’ Fire Performers.
