Stories Of Heroism
Calaveras County, CA — The American Red Cross wants to hear your stories of heroism in Calaveras County. They are accepting emails or written letters highlighting someone’s acts of courage.
The American Red Cross Capital Region Spokesperson Jordan Scott says, “Really what we are looking for is anybody in the community who has a story about a hero. Somebody who has gone above and beyond in exhibiting an act of selflessness. Maybe it’s using CPR in an emergency or just taking appropriate actions when they see someone in distress.”
There are twelve different nomination categories. Some of those involve firefighters, law enforcement officials, medical workers, good Samaritans and even animals who have performed heroic deeds. The heroes of Calaveras, San Joaquin, and Amador counties will be honored at the 12th Annual Red Cross Heroes Breakfast on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, February 14, 2014. Click here for more information and a nomination form.
