Bomb Scare At Healthcare Facility
Sonora, CA — A bomb squad was called in to check out a package left near a Sonora medical facility.
Sonora Police Department officers were called to the Prompt Care Forest Road office at 193 Fairview Lane for a suspicious package recently. When officer arrived, they found a wrapped Christmas package in the parking lot. Sonora Police Chief Mark Stinson says they called in reinforcements based on the condition of the package and its proximity to the facility.
“The Calaveras Bomb Squad was called. Upon further investigation of the package, it was determined to be empty. It was also determined that the package was probably a left over Christmas display that was not picked up and thrown away,” says Stinson.
The facility and parking lot were shut down for about an hour while a member of the bomb squad examined the package.
