Tap Troubles

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA – Some Calaveras County residents may experience some intermittent water problems in the next several months. The Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) will be flushing main water lines in the Jenny Lind system. The areas impacted will include Rancho Calaveras, Jenny Lind, La Contenta, and portions of Valley Springs. The service interruption will be intermittent from early January through April.

During the flushing customers may have low water pressure and their water may be slightly discolored. CCWD officials stress the water will be safe for use. In addition, some streets and gutters will be filled with water when the flushing is being done. CCWD will post signs when flushing is taking place and recommends customers do not wash clothes when the signs are up, as they could be stained. Once flushing is done the water conditions should return to normal within a few hours. District officials say customers should run the tap to get rid of any water discoloration.
