CAO Contract Renewed

Sonora, CA —  The Tuolumne County Supervisors today extended County Administrative Officer Craig Pedro’s contract. Pedro’s new contract is for five years and expires on October 31, 2019.

Pedro thanked the Board for their support. “I don’t do this for the dollars,” said Pedro. “I don’t do it for the acknowledgements. I do it, as corny as it may sound, because I do love Tuolumne County.”

Pedro’s base salary will be $135,375. He will also get a $450 monthly automobile allowance and benefits.

The Board voted unanimously to extend Pedro’s contract and several members praised his work.

“You’ve led this county through probably its toughest times and done well,” said Karl Roderfer, District Five Supervisor. “This action is not just recognition of your past performance, but also a measure of confidence in your ability to continue to lead the county going forward.”

Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority Director Larry Cope also gave his endorsement at today’s meeting. Cope said Pedro and former Sonora City Administrator Greg Applegate helped to launch the EDA, which has helped attract and retain businesses to the county.

Pedro is a fifth generation native of the county. He says he would like to end his career here, serving the board and the residents of Tuolumne County.
