Sonora, CA — A new Deputy Forest Supervisor has been selected for the Stanislaus National Forest.

Scott Tangenberg will be taking over starting next year. He currently works as a District Ranger at the Mountaintop Ranger District on the San Bernardino National Forest.

“Scott is known for building coalitions, and working collaboratively with partners,” says Stanislaus Forest Supervisor Susan Skalski. She adds, “He will be a great addition to our leadership team.”

Before his current position, Tangenberg led the watershed program on the Lassen National Forest. When he was there he coordinated a large watershed improvement program. He also served as a Hydrologist for forests in both South Dakota and Oregon.

“I am looking forward to meeting the people and engaging in the issues on the Stanislaus. This is an exciting move for me,” said Tangenberg.

Tangenberg has a Master’s Degree from University of Utah and a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Colorado, both in Geology. His first day on the job in the Stanislaus National Forest is January 6th.
