CHP Will Be Out In Force

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — All available officers will be patrolling the area highways over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Sonora Area CHP Spokesperson Nick Norton says a “Maximum Enforcement Period” will start at 6pm this evening. Over the Thanksgiving MEP last year, there were over 1,300 arrests made by CHP officers.

“People get together and celebrate, and we want to make sure people don’t drink and drive,” adds Norton. “We don’t want any bad accidents or fatalities during this holiday period.”

The Maximum Enforcement Period will run through Sunday.
