Bridge Crash Now A Fatal

Sponsored by:

The CHP is confirming one person has died in a crash at the Clavey River Bridge in the Stanislaus National Forest. The Tuolumne County Coroner has been called to the scene.

A large hay truck went off the Clavey River Bridge near Cottonwood Road where much of the current BAER Team work is taking place. The CHP is reporting that it went about 100-150 ft. over the bridge.

An air ambulance and the Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue rope team were dispatched earlier. In addition, a hazmat crew is responding because there are reports of diesel fuel running into the river. We’ll pass along more information as details become available.
