BAER Team Progress Report
The BAER Team has now completed about 75% of the road surface repairs in the Stanislaus National Forest.
The Burned Area Emergency Response Team has been working over the past several weeks to make repairs in the region damaged by the Rim Fire. Much of the work over the next few weeks will focus on replacing metal culverts that were damaged. The group is still on pace to wrap-up work by mid-November, hopefully before the heavy rain and snow season.
The following update has been released by the BAER Team:
Roads
Restoring Drainage – 75% complete
-Clean the ditches and culverts
-Pull floatable debris
-Water bars – helps with the drainage of water
-Grading the road
Rolling Dips (repair and construct) – 68% complete
Protection/Safety
-Hazard tree mitigation – 100% complete along priority roads
-Cultural resource protection: erosion control measures are 85% complete
-Rock barrier installation is 75% complete
