Update: Highway 4 Head-on Crash

Murphys, CA — A two car crash sends one driver to the hospital with moderate injuries near Murphys. The CHP reports 78-year-old Erika Kaiser of Murphys was driving a 2005 Lexus eastbound on Highway 4 near Anrey Court when for unknown reason she crossed the double-yellow lines and smashed head-on into a 2001 Honda. That car was driven by 74-year-old Lexie Whiteman of Stockton. The CHP says both cars went off the road about 30 feet and down an embankment. Whiteman was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center suffering from moderate injuries. Kaiser refused treatment at the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The crash happened just before noon.
