Vegetation Fire Stanislaus National Forest
Stanislaus National Forest, CA — Firefighters and Columbia Air Units are on the scene of a one and a half acre vegetation fire on Strawberry Peak in the Stanislaus National Forest. The flames broke out near Forest Road 4N39 just before 1 pm. Forest Service officials say the rate of spread is slow and no structures area threatened at this time. We will bring you more information as soon as it is available.

Update 1:55 pm: Forest Spokesperson Veronica Garcia says crews are taking control and making progress on the flames. She says they have a line and hoses around the fire. Garcia reports the rate of spread is slow to moderate.
Update 2:25pm: Garcia says crews are still working on the flames and there is no word on containment at this time. She says the fire has not grown and remains at one and a half acres.
