Books Back On The Shelves
Murphys, CA — The Murphys Library has reopened after a busted water pipe in the men’s bathroom shuts it down for almost a month. The library closed down on September 18th due to the water damage to the downstairs carpet and elevator. The library reopened today even though the elevator is still not working as the parts to fix it are being shipped.
Branch Assistant Kris Gialdini says, “The biggest chore was not the packing out, it was the putting everything back. We are still working on it but we decided to open because the books are on the shelves and for the most part they’re kind of in the right place.”
Workers unpacked 403 boxes to be able to reopen the library doors. Gialdini says there was a steady stream of people all day. She also says insurance paid the cost of the repairs.
