Murphys Prepares For 20th Annual Grape Stomp

Sponsored by:

Murphys, CA– The 20th Annual Calaveras Grape Stomp is happening in Murphys this Saturday, October 5th. The Stomp runs in conjunction with the Murphys Gold Rush Street Faire featuring plenty of arts, crafts and food booths to enjoy.

This year will feature a special tribute to the hundreds of volunteers who take personal responsibility for making the event a success. Without their commitment, there would be no Calaveras Grape Stomp.

The Grape stomp competitions begin promptly at 9:15 a.m. and take place every half hour. Two person teams stomp 25 pounds of grapes in a barrel as quickly as they can and the team with the most grape juice is declared the winner.

A silent auction will also take place throughout the day, followed by a live auction featuring premium wine experience packages at Calaveras wineries. Proceeds from both auctions go back into the community in the form of student scholarships and donations to clubs, schools, and organizations in need.

Produced by the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance, the Grape Stomp in Murphys Park and the Gold Rush Street Faire on Main Street starts at 9:30 am and runs until 5 pm.
