Highway 108 Fire

Jamestown, CA — Firefighters are on the scene of a structure and vegetation fire off of Highway 108 in Jamestown. The highway is shutdown in both directions near Bell Mooney Road. 


CALFire Spokesperson Mike Spear says, “We are actively putting out the wildland fire now.” He said it is unclear what type of structure is fully engulfed in flames and there are two acres of vegetation on fire.


The fire is location on the 17000 block of Highway 108 near the hurst feed and fencing store in Jamestown.


Update 5:45 pm: The fire is contained at two acres. Spears says, “The structure was an abandoned home and it was totally destroyed.” Highway 108 is still closed and Spears estimates it will be closed for about another hour. Crews will be on scene mopping up into the evening. Click here for a map of the fire area.


Update 6:15 pm: Spear reports the roadway is set to open back up in about five minutes.
