Sponsored by:

Mokelumne Hill, CA — A semi rollover crash on Highway 49 north of Mokelumne Hill in Calaveras County just south of the Amador County line has the highway shutdown. They say both lanes of the roadway will be closed for about 20 minutes as Caltrans crews work to clean up debris and tow the semi-truck.

The accident happened around 1:45 this afternoon a semi carrying asphalt went off the roadway and flipped on its side. Both lanes of the highway are blocked with debris for about 30 minutes. Then Highway 49 was down to one-way traffic for about 20 minutes and it is now shutdown.
An air ambulance did land and take off with one person in it. There is no word on that persons injuries or whether it is the driver or possibly a passenger in the semi. The CHP says the area where the semi went off the road is referred to as “13 Corners”.  Motorists will want to use caution in the area.
