Rim Fire And Jamestown Mine On Sups Agenda

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will hear a presentation on the Rim Fire, and vote on another extension for the Yosemite Gardens group.

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Board will hear a presentation from representatives from various agencies that are helping to battle the Rim Fire.

The Supervisors will also decide whether to grant another extension to the Yosemite Gardens group related to the purchase of the Jamestown Mine Site. Developer Vincent Estell is asking that the deadline to pay the county the $379K for the property be extended to December 30. County leaders had previously stated publically that no further extensions would be approved. However, Estell is now offering to pay the county a non-refundable $100K. If the sale does not close by December 30, the county could keep the money.

Tomorrow the County also plans to approve a social media policy related to county departments utilizing Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 9am in the Supervisors meeting room. It will be streamed live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
