Sponsored by:

Fire officials will remain on scene of a couple of Mother Lode fires through the night and into Sunday.

CAL Fire Spokesperson Nancy Longmore says the Bridges Fire is now 10% contained and 60 acres. It started at around 10am near Parrotts Ferry Road and Camp Nine Road, above Natural Bridges. There are no evacuation orders, but officials are encouraging visitors to stay away as a steady stream of fire equipment has been passing through. Click here to view a map of the area.

The Rim Fire in Stanislaus National Forest remains around 200 acres in size. Forest Service Spokesperson Jerry Snyder says air resources will remain on scene until around 8pm, and officials will then monitor it from the ground through the evening. Crews will begin attacking the fire heavily again at first daylight. It is located in an isolated area along the north facing slope of the Clavey River Canyon. Click here to view a map.

The earlier fire along Cottonwood Road in the Stanislaus National Forest has been contained at 2-3 acres.

A special thanks to Jackie Donovan, Michael McEvoy, Shelly Davis-King, George Hunter, Tim Warren, A. Horvath, Patrick Mcbride, Lt. Robert Anzar, Anthony Perl, and Carey Haughy for sending in photos of the fires today. You can also click here to view an early video of the Bridges Fire.
