A 25th anniversary celebration at a state park, and a dedication of a dog park, are among the weekend highlights in the Mother Lode.
Calaveras Big Trees State Park will celebrate 25 years on Saturday with several free events and activities. Nature crafts, arts exhibits and live music will run from 10am-3:30pm.
The Sonora Sunrise Rotary Club will host a grand opening celebration for a new dog park at 12865 Covey Circle. The event runs from 9am-noon on Saturday, and will feature a doggie parade, costume contest and hot dog lunch.
Visitors to New Melones will have a chance to prove how much they know about the lake. The Campground Feud will begin at 7pm at the Glory Hill Recreation Area.
