Tuolumne County, CA — The CHP arrested a Sonora man for DUI after a wreck on Rawhide Road between Highway 49 and French Flat Road. The CHP reports 35 year old Joshua Watkins was driving a 1992 Ford Escort when he lost control of the car on a sharp curve. The car went through a wood fence and flipped over into a wood pile in the front yard of a home. When the officer arrived on the scene Watkins was gone. As officers questioned witnesses, they noticed a man fitting Watkins description walking up to the scene. When Watkins spotted them, he tried to walk away. Officers say Watkins was extremely intoxicated and resisted arrest. He was arrested for felony DUI, hit and run, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license. Watkins has three prior DUI convictions since 2004.
