Yosemite Launches Sign Language Services

Sponsored by:

Yosemite, CA — Yosemite National Park is introducing new services designed to help visitors that are deaf or hard of hearing.

The Park has made several videos in American Sign Language with information about driving in Yosemite, obtaining an Access Pass, requesting an interpreter and other topics. Yosemite also has a full-time interpreter in the park. Jessica Cole will be in Yosemite until August 24 and is stationed at the Yosemite Valley Visitors Center every Wednesday afternoon. She is also available for advanced appointments.

American Sign Language interpreting services are now available for all official park programs, including tours, ranger programs and theater presentations. Also, a public videophone is available at the Yosemite Lodge for visitors in the park.
