Hot July Weekend Events
Several events from car shows to duck races are happening in the Mother Lode this weekend.
The 20th Annual Duck Races begin on Saturday at 1pm in the Murphys Community Park. For information on the times of the different races and where to buy tickets and other ticket and event information view the event listing.
Friends of Columbia State Historic Park are celebrating Columbia’s 68th year as a California State Park. The park will host the 19th annual Big Band Street Dance on Main Street in Columbia on Saturday July 20, from 7:00 pm until 10:30 pm. Admission is free and 1940’s and 1950’s costumes are encouraged. Earlier in the day there is a tour focused on life in Columbia during the 1940’s. The 9th Annual Arnold Classic Car Show begins at 10am. The event calls itself the “Greatest little car show in the Sierras.” For event details and further infromation view the event listing.
As always keep an eye out for motorcycles on the road and you may see the group of bikers doing the “Run to the Pines.” The 13 annual Poker Run from Jamestown to Dardanelle’s Resort is put on by Jamestown HOG #8102. The Tuolumne County Farm Bureau is hosting its Annual BBQ & Auction
Saturday evening. The public is invited to Hurst Ranch in Jamestown ticket details are in the event listing here. Proceeds benefit TCFB Scholarship and County Programs.
As previously reported the Great Make Day began today at 9am. The event is designed to be a chance for innovators to network and create interesting products that could eventually go to market. The public is invited to watch both today and tomorrow. There will be demonstrations of 3D printers, robotics, electronics, recycled art, remote controlled gadgets.
