The next step in the controversial Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment review process is underway. Today, Regional Forester Jack Blackwell sent Forest Service Chief Dale Bosworth the region´s proposed plan on how to proceed with the review.
A six person team has been formed to look into more aggressive forest thinning to reduce combustible materials. The team has also been directed to review the plan to see if it is consistent with the National fire Plan.
Blackwell has called for the review to be completed in a year.
