Forest Plan Review Decison Released On Thursday

Agriculture undersecretary Mark Rey will brief the media on the results of his examination of Forest Chief Dale Bosworth´s appeals decision on the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment tomorrow.
Despite over 200 appeals against portions the forest management plan, Bosworth affirmed the plan in November. At the same time, Bosworth directed the regional forester to increase the flexibility of the plan and to be more aggressive in identifying needs to thin more brush and timber than originally called for in the plan.
Tomorrow´s decision is to determine if Bosworth´s recommendation should be reviewed.
