Animal Cruelty In Mariposa County

The Mariposa County Sheriff´s Department arrested a Woodland woman on 100 counts of animal cruelty Monday.
When deputies searched Winifred Scarbrough´s Wildcat Road home, they were met with a grim scene.
One officer said it was the most deplorable conditions he´s seen in his 30 year career in law enforcement.
The dogs were removed from the scene yesterday, checked out by veterinarians and are being kept by county animal control officials at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds.
