Energy Costs Lowered

California officials yesterday lowered estimates on how much it will cost to buy power for the state in the near future. That could translate into lower bills for ratepayers.

Officials at the Department of Water Resources now say the state will need to spend 17.2 billion dollars to buy power through the end of next year. That figure is 20 percent less than the previous estimate.
